Most men shower first and then shave over the sink in the traditional manner. Opt for the combined method of shaving in the shower. Save time while, eliminating the need to clean the sink, and get a closer shave due to the extended time your beard is exposed to the hot water and steam.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shower mirror with suction cups
  • razor
  • Shaving cream or lotion
  1. Step 1

Attach your shower mirror by wetting the suction cups and pressing the mirror to the shower wall at eye level.

  2. Step 2

Shower the same way you usually do, except remember to turn your face into the hot spray of water often as you wash and rinse. This softens your beard considerably before you begin to shave.

  3. Step 3

Turn your back to the water spray and lather your face in the same manner as when preparing to shave over the sink. Cover your entire beard and a bit of your sideburns.

  4. Step 4

Use your favorite razor to shave your face, going in the direction of the hair growth and paying particular attention to the desired place where your sideburns end.

  5. Step 5

Shave your face again, this time going against the direction of hair growth. Look for any small patches of whiskers you may have missed the first time.

  6. Step 6

Rinse your face thoroughly in the shower spray, then feel once more for any missed spots. If you find one, shave it and rinse again.

  7. Step 7

Turn off the shower, and towel dry as you usual. Pat your face with the towel instead of rubbing it.

  8. Step 8

Apply your favorite aftershave or lotion, and you're ready to go.

Tips & Warnings
  • If your mirror fogs, run it under hot water for a few seconds.
  • Hair conditioner works better than traditional shaving cream.
