How to Unlock Rock Band Songs

If you happen to be good at Rock Band, it might be easy for you to unlock all the songs the tried and true way, by actually playing until you beat the game. If you don't have the time or the skills, but you want to play all the songs anyway, there's an alternate way to unlock all Rock Band songs on your PS2, PS3 or Xbox 360.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Turn on your gaming system, making sure the Rock Band game is in and your instruments are connected. Wait for the startup screen to finish or bypass it by pressing any button on your instrument or controller.

  2. Step 2

Enter the cheat code from any instrument--although it's easier with the drumset or guitar--to unlock all Rock Band songs. Press in this order: Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue.

  3. Step 3

Notice the screen that pops up and tells you that you correctly unlocked all songs. If you didn't get this screen, you probably need to enter the code quicker or try another instrument.

  4. Step 4

Press the green button to accept the cheat code and play all available songs on solo quickplay or band quickplay. This cheat disables saving, so you won't be able to save your progress and must enter the code every time you start the game.

  5. Step 5

Play with a group of friends or alone, choosing your favorite songs instead of those you can't seem to pass. Play the game normally to unlock other features, such as transparent, silver or gold instruments, or to get into the hall of fame.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some game cheat sites say another cheat code works to unlock all Rock Band songs. If you can't get the above code to work, try this one: Yellow, Red, Blue, Yellow, Yellow, Blue, Blue, Yellow, Red, Blue.

on 7/24/2008 I tried unlocking the songs on my PS2 using the drum kit. After three tries, it worked! The screen said "songs unlocked" - but then when I got back to the song selection menu, it was the same old boring introductory list of 13 songs or whatever. Is that because I unlocked it with drums but then tried to play the songs with guitar? Any advice?
