Little girls will love wearing a cute and funky jeweled sun hat that they make by themselves, with only a little help from you. It's a great way to have some fun, and to make sure your little darling's face is protected from the bright rays of the sun.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White canvas hat
  • Craft jewels, round, in various colors
  • Fabric glue
  • Small sponge brush
  • Orange and yellow fabric paint
  • Waxed paper
  • Foam stamps in large and small flower shapes
  • Waxed paper
  • Plastic tablecloth or other protective covering
  1. Step 1

Determine what part of the hat will be painted, and place a piece of wax paper under that area to keep paint from soaking through to the other side of the hat.

  2. Step 2

Paint the foam stamps with bright yellow fabric paint and press a few flowers on the front of the hat. Make several smaller flowers with small stamps and bright orange fabric paint.

  3. Step 3

Allow it to dry, and glue a round craft jewel in the middle of each flower.

  4. Step 4

Glue more craft jewels around the hat, in a wave pattern or any pattern that you like.

  5. Step 5

Allow the jeweled sun hat to dry completely before you wear it.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can make sun hats for boys, too. Just devise an appropriate pattern, and use colors to go along with the pattern
  • Be sure to use glue made especially for fabric. Other glues, including hot glue gun, won't adhere to fabric for very long.
