How to Sew a Watercolor Quilt

Pull together a variety of floral patterns that combine vibrant light and dark shades and sew them together to create a great watercolor quilt pattern that you and others will love.
Instructions

1
Find fabric designs for your watercolor quilt. To create a watercolor effect, select fabrics of several colors and busy, vibrant patterns to sew.
-
2
Mark and cut the fabric into 2-inch squares. Sort the fabrics into watercolor shades of light to dark and make sure you have equivalent amounts of two to three different fabrics, at least.
-
-
3
Iron any wrinkles from the fabric before you begin to sew. Sew the individual squares together in the desired pattern, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Press the seams open.
-
4
Continue to sew the squares, in your chosen pattern, to create several rows for your watercolor quilt. You want the shades to go from light to dark on the quilt.
-
5
Choose two rows to put together. Sew them, making sure that the seams match up. Press the seams open after sewing.
-
6
Finish your watercolor design by sewing all of your rows together and make it the top layer of your quilt, after the prepared backing and batting is applied.
