3. Research places to buy a used electric scooter. Once you have narrowed down the style, size and type of electric scooter you want, you can start shopping for one. They can be found in classified ads, garage or estate sales, online auction or selling sites and specialty shops or scooter repair shops. When ordering online, ask specific questions, to see detailed pictures and if there is a warranty or guarantee.

4. Ask for a warranty or guarantee, whether you are purchasing online or in-person. This is important in case there ends up being a mechanical or safety issue when you get it home and test it out. The manufacturer's warranty may or may not still be in effect, but a simple written agreement of 30 days should be agreeable by both parties.
