Wrestlers are a scary bunch, so if you want to make sure no one messes with you this Halloween, make your very own wrestling costume. You can model it after a well-known wrestler like Hulk Hogan, or better yet, you can design and make your own.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Spandex pants or shorts
  • Lycra or spandex fabric
  • Needle and thread
  • Heavy boots
  • Hat or bandanna
  1. Step 1

Nail down your persona. Figure out if you're mean or friendly, or if you're a good guy or a bad guy. This will obviously influence your costume design.

  2. Step 2

Pick your colors. Wear all black if you're a bad guy, but if you're a good guy, throw in some other bright colors.

  3. Step 3

Buy spandex pants or wear colored or black tights under a pair of spandex shorts.

  4. Step 4

Get some stretchy fabric, like lycra or spandex, to make your top. The stretchy fabric will be easier to move around in and won't rip as easily. Use a fabric pen to draw the pattern on what will be the inside of the costume. Cut along the lines once you've drawn it all.

  5. Step 5

Stitch up any edges with double-stitching so it's harder to rip. Use white thread on black fabric or something similar so the stitching stands out and looks like part of the costume.

  6. Step 6

Wear high, black boots that support your ankles. Heavy combat boots are the best.

  7. Step 7

Slip on a hat, whether it's a top hat, baseball cap or just a simple bandanna.

Tips & Warnings
  • Borrow bits and pieces from other professional wrestlers' costumes, like Jim Ross's black glasses or Hulk Hogan's bandanna.
  • You can wear black, leather pants if you're not planning on doing any actual wrestling.
