A Santa Claus Pub Crawl is a perfect way to do something for the community while having a good time with friends and family. Hosting a Santa Claus Pub Crawl, however, can be a complicated affair. Toys have to be collected for children and properly donated to the charity while the guests are entertained.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set the date of the pub crawl. It should be close to Christmas, but not so close that people will be out of town. Most occur during the two weekends before Christmas.

  2. Step 2

Contact local bars to find locations for the pub crawl. Create a route between the bars and have transportation available, if necessary. Be sure to mention that it is for a good cause to see if you can get drink deals from each bar.

  3. Step 3

Formulate a plan for collecting toy donations and money donations. Have a place to collect them in the bar and a place to store them when the guests move to the next bar. Also, have a plan to drop the donations off at the appropriate charities.

  4. Step 4

Send out invitations to family and friends, including a map of the route, and mention the toy donation, without it the guests will have to make a money donation to join the pub crawl. You decide the amount of the money donation based on costs or what you believe is a reasonable donation (most are around $40). Some Santa Claus Pub Crawls require all guests to wear holiday themed costumes head to foot, but the decision is yours.

  5. Step 5

Arrive early to the first bar on the crawl date. Set up the donation boxes and prepare for guests to arrive. Some bars will section off an area of the bar for large groups, so you may need to direct guests to the right place.

  6. Step 6

Collect the donations and when it is time to move to the second bar, move the items to a secure location. Remember to deliver the donations at that time or the following morning.

  7. Step 7

Catch up with the other guests at the second bar and enjoy the rest of the evening.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be enthusiastic. Guests will follow the mood of the host.
