How to Make a Duct Tape Jacket

Duct tape has a wide variety of uses, but many people don't know that it can also be used as a fashion statement. Some people have seen or heard of a duct tape wallet but not many have heard or seen a duct tape jacket.

Instructions

1. Determine the style of duct tape jacket that you want to make. A duct tape jacket does not need to be only for warmth, but you can also use it to create a neat ensemble.

2. Search for a pattern to use for the duct tape jacket. Use a pattern in the correct size that you need the duct tape jacket to be.

3. Lay out a piece of duct tape fabric or a duct tape blanket. Arrange the pattern pieces on the fabric. Using straight pins, secure the pattern pieces to the fabric.

4. Cut the jacket pattern pieces out of the duct tape fabric. Leave the pattern pinned to the fabric until you are ready to use the cut out piece. If a pattern piece is removed, simply lay it back on the fabric and reapply the pins so you know which piece it is in the pattern.

5. Sew the pieces together in order that the pattern tells you to. Once the duct tape jacket is complete, be sure to remove any remaining straight pins before wearing the jacket to avoid getting poked or stabbed.

6. Look for any flaws in the duct tape jacket. If you notice any, you can easily apply an extra piece of duct tape to repair or hide the flaw in the jacket.
