Step 1
Check out the devilock hairstyles of the originators of the look, Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only. Look at Jerry Only, who sported the devilock for years, by watching some videos of Misfits shows and looking closely at the band's posters which often feature the Misfit with the notorious hairstyle. Find a few smaller photos of Only with the devilock to help you acquire the do.

Step 2
Grow your hair out so that the top strands reach at least past your chin if you stretch them out. Then, shave two half-moons into the front of your head by first trimming the hair down and then using clippers or a razor to push your hairline back.
-
Step 3
Straighten out your hair on a daily basis with a curling iron and brush. Even if you have pretty straight hair, you should blow dry and brush your hair out so that the long strands on the top of your head fall straight over your face.
-
Step 4
Dye your hair black or a very unusual color such as platinum or some kind of neon, such as pink or green. Crop the sides of your hair so that there's still hair there but keep it very short.
-
Step 5
Use a good hairspray or gel to mold the top strands of your hair into a devil's tail by brushing and blow drying the hair straight down and pinching it together at the end. Try to put a little curve into the front strand so that it bends off of your head near the top. Make sure the long strand is centered and smooth to finish off the Misfit's famous hairstyle.
