Step 1
Register a primary nickname. This primary nickname is the name to which all other nicknames are linked. Change to your primary nickname and identify yourself to Nickserv with your password.

Double check that the nickname you wish to link isn't already registered. Query Nickserv with /msg Nickserv INFO nickname, where "nickname" insert the name you wish to link. Use the IRC /whois command to make sure that no one is currently using the nickname.

Use the Nickserv LINK command to link the new nickname. Contact Nickserv on via the IRC server using the command /msg Nickserv LINK nickname. Insert the new nickname you want to link to your primary nickname.

Step 4
Check your list of linked nicknames using the LISTLINKS command. Contact Nickserv on via the IRC server using the command /msg Nickserv LISTLINKS to retrieve a list of all nicknames linked to your primary nickname.

Step 5
Remove a linked nickname using the UNLINK command. The UNLINK command can be used to unlink a nickname from the primary nickname, or to change your primary nickname.

Step 6
Unlink a nickname by changing to your primary nickname and identifying yourself to Nickserv using your password. Then /msg Nickserv UNLINK nickname, where "nickname" is name you wish to unlink.

Step 7
Switch the primary nickname, by changing the primary nickname, then /msg Nickserv UNLINK nickname.
