When a professional wrestler performs a "facebuster", also known as a "face plant," he slams an opponent to the mat face-first without a head or facelock. The facebusting Gory Bomb stems from the Gory Special, a back-to-back stretch hold. Wrestler Chavo Guerrero flipped the Gory Special on its face. Naming this move after his grandfather, the inventor of the Gory Special, the Gory Bomb is one of the most popular takedown moves in pro-wrestling.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Bend your opponent over. Place his head around your mid-section area. If he's too low or high you cannot execute Step 2. To keep in the pro-wrestling spirit, you can bend him by shoving his head down or by "kneeing" him in the stomach.
Step2
Flip him over your shoulder by grabbing him under his arms or around his stomach and pulling upward as your knees bend slightly and push up. His rump or lower back will hit your shoulder area as he flips.
Step3
Slide the challenger down your back until you can hold him up by his armpits. His legs should tuck around your hips. You will be back-to-back.
Step4
Take hold of your adversary's legs as you let go of his arms and drop into a seated position upon the mat. He will fall forward and land on his face and chest, as you land between his legs.

Tips & Warnings

  • You will need the strength to lift your opponent above you or have enough momentum to toss him over.
  • Use caution. This is a dangerous move for those not experienced in these techniques.
