How to Create a Sphere With Cell Shading

"SecondLife" is an online 3-D community. It's a virtual world where you are not limited by the same things that limit you in real life. In "SecondLife," you can build a house, own a business or do one of millions of other activities. You just need to know how to build your 3-D objects.

Instructions

    • 1

Begin by opening the "Build" menu in "SecondLife." Then select the "sphere" option at the top of the menu.

    • 2

Remove the default texture. In "SecondLife" your sphere will automatically have a wood grain texture. Select "Blank" to remove the texture. Click the "Select" button on the window to close the window and go back to shading your sphere.

    • 3

Make a copy of the sphere. Hold the shift key and drag the original sphere, and a copy will appear in its place. Once both copies are visible, drag the original sphere so that it overlaps the copy.

    • 4

Color the topmost sphere completely black. This is the first step toward actually shading the sphere.

    • 5

Open the "Object" tab and select the correct button to make the black sphere hollow.

    • 6

Select the "Texture" tab again. Select the "Select Texture" option and click on the outside of the black sphere to apply the texture. Make sure the texture only gets applied to the black sphere, and your cell shading work is complete.

    • 7

Link the two spheres so that you can move them around without losing one.
