How to Buy White Pants

White pants are the essence of summer dressing, but they aren't always easy to pull off successfully. Unlike slimming black, white clothing can show off every little figure flaw. So forget those tight white pants that only look good when glued on skinny fashion models. Buy some figure flattering items, instead.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Choose easy-fitting fabrics. There's no need to buy tight and restricting white pants unless you wish to and have the figure to wear them. Look for stretch cotton, linen or comfy knits.

  2. Step 2

Think differently about summer fashions. Maybe you wouldn't be caught dead in elastic waist pants, but white linen cropped pants with an elastic waist are classic. They look especially good if they are accompanied with a matching sleeveless jacket.

  3. Step 3

Stick to styles appropriate for your shape. And if you're blessed with shapely legs, think about buying white shorts instead of pants.

  4. Step 4

Choose traditional color combinations. A navy blue and white combo looks just as good in the toy boat section of the Dollar Store as it does on a million-dollar yacht. Wear a black top with white pants for another elegant duo. Add a pair of dark sunglasses for the Jackie O. look.

  5. Step 5

Dress up white pants for a party. Try a metallic knit tank top, sparkly accessories and gold beaded flip flops. You'll be comfortable and chic.

  6. Step 6

Buy not one, but two pairs of white pants, and get the ones you can toss easily into the washer and dryer. White doesn't hide anything, including dirt.
