Things You’ll Need:
Step1
Start Microsoft Word 2003 and open and an existing document from your files that contains a form that you want to display calculation results.
Step2
Choose the "View" menu, point to "Toolbars" and then click "Forms." This will open the "Forms" toolbar and place it on the Word desktop.
Step3
Select the "Tools" menu and click on "Unprotect Document" to bring up the "Unprotect Document" dialog box. Enter your password in the "Password" text box and click the "OK" button. The document will now be unprotected and the dialog box will close.
Step4
Click on one of the fields in your form to select it.
Step5
Use the "Form Field Options" button that is included on the "Forms" toolbar to open the "Text Form Field Options" dialog box.
Step6
Click to place a checkmark in the checkbox before the phrase "Calculate on exit" at the bottom of the dialog box. Press the "OK" button to close the dialog box.
Step7
Continue to select each field in your form and change the form field options so they will all be calculated on exit. When you are finished, you can protect the form by choosing the "Tools" menu and clicking on "Protect Document." The calculation results for your form will automatically be updated now.
