How to Install Adobe Acrobat Reader on Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon

Ubuntu is a free Linux-based operating system. You can install Adobe Acrobat on Ubuntu using Adobe Acrobat Reader's free software, which allows you to view and print PDF files. You can also interact with PDF documents using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Get to the Adobe Reader download page.

  2. Step 2

    Select "Linux" under the operating system drop-down box, "Linux - x86.deb" under the version drop-down box and the appropriate language under the language drop-down box.

  3. Step 3

    Click the "Continue" button, then hit "Download Adobe Acrobat Reader" to start the download. Choose the "Open With" option and select "GDebi Package Installer."

  4. Step 4

    Navigate to the "Applications" button at the top of the screen and click on it. Then click "Office and the Adobe Reader 8."

  5. Step 5

    Hit "OK" when the prompt window pops up. A blank window will appear, just disregard it.

  6. Step 6

    Go to Adobe Acrobat Reader and select "Edit," then "Preferences" and finally "Internet."

  7. Step 7

    Use "/usr/bin/firefox" to fill the field after Browser Executable and "/usr/lib/firefox" to fill the field after the "libgtkernbedmoz" folder. Save your changes and restart the program.
