How to Dress Rich in Middle School

It's fun to be a rich girl in middle school. Unless you go out of your way to act weird, you're almost guaranteed popularity. If you're not actually rich, you can capture the look and status of being rich by dressing the part. Here's how to dress rich in middle school.

1. Buy a few authentic designer accessories, like purses and sunglasses. Your mom might not want to spend a few hundred dollars or more to get you a real Coach bag and Gucci sunglasses, but you can earn the money yourself working after school--or hang on to those birthday checks from your grandparents. Rich girls can smell a knock-off a mile away so make sure you carry the real thing. Ebay can be a great source of affordable, "gently used" designer accessories.

2. Get a tan. You can lay out over the summer, go to a tanning booth or use high quality sunless tanners--which are better for your skin, anyway. You can also carefully apply bronzer for a sun-kissed look. Tan skin gives you a rich, just back from vacation in the Bahamas look.

3. Wear your hair long, loose and straight or in loose waves. This is a "rich girl" hair style that looks good on almost everyone. You might have to get it straightened if your hair is naturally frizzy.

4. Buy a few pairs of premium jeans like Sevens or Citizens of Humanity. Not only is this part of the "rich girl" uniform, but it makes your body look great.

5. Wear understated jewelry. A tennis bracelet, diamond studs and a thin silver pendant necklace from Tiffany's is all you really need. Stacking on bracelets or wearing costume jewelry looks cheap. If you can't afford the real thing, you can find authentic looking faux diamond jewelry at upscale department stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.

6. Get your eyebrows waxed regularly and keep your make up pretty but understated. A clean, pretty face is the rich girl look. Lots of make up and ungroomed brows can seem tacky or cheap.

7. Make manicures and pedicures part of your routine--and always choose conservative, pretty colors, not electric blue or bright green. Coral, rose, pink or a French manicure are the way to go. For dressy occasions, you can choose classic red.
