Step 1
Enlist your friends. They should be your very best friends if you're going to entrust them with your code. Keep it to just two or three of your closest friends so you don't end up looking like everyone else in school.
-
Step 2
Create the rules. For example, tell everyone to wear their favorite color on Monday, a skirt on Tuesday, jeans and a fitted t-shirt on Wednesday, a dress on Thursday and let everyone create their own look for Friday. Keep a chart or a rule book to write down offenses.
-
Step 3
Ban certain clothing items. Come up with a list of banned clothing that everyone agrees on. For example, ban corduroys, white jeans, sweatpants and any other piece of clothing your group finds offensive.
-
Step 4
Write a section about what to wear to specific events. Jeans, t-shirts and casual skirts are fine for school, but for events like a dance, you'd better have a killer designer dress. Set rules for sporting events. You can wear jeans and a school jersey, but make sure you still look immaculate.
-
Step 5
Set up penalties for members who break the dress code. Ban them from a party if they wear sweatpants and if they break too many rules, ban them from the dress code altogether.
-
Step 6
Make an section of the code for hair and accessories. For instance, wear your hair down every day; ponytails are banned. Wear earrings, rings and bracelets, but never over accessorize. Make up is a must, but don't overdo it. Skip the heavy eyeliner and bright lipstick and give yourself a more natural look.
