Creating a Halloween costume can be a lot of fun but things become trickier when you need an outfit for a teen. You want something fun but cool whether your teen is going to a dance or trick or treating. Use these tips to create a cool Halloween costume for teens.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide what theme you want. You can choose from scary, funny or serious. Once you decide your theme you can look at specific costumes.

  2. Step 2

Create a teen witch costume by dressing up a traditional witch. You can make it stylish by shortening the skirt and adding tights in fashionable colors. Add a stylish wig and costume jewellery or go goth by adding black hair, nails and makeup. You can do a lot with a witch costume.

  3. Step 3

Make a vampire outfit for a teen boy. Put together black pants and a black shirt with a collar that goes straight up at the back. Add a black wig and white makeup with plenty of blood for a gory effect.

  4. Step 4

Create a celebrity costume. Help your teen look like a famous person like Britney Spears, Hannah Montana or Jack Sparrow. Look at teen magazines or websites for samples of these famous people. You mainly need similar clothing and a particular makeup or hairstyle.

  5. Step 5

Copy character costumes from famous shows like Pirates of the Caribbean or Harry Potter. Use a typical pirate costume with black pants, a head scarf and jewellery.

  6. Step 6

Go with popular Halloween costumes like zombies, devils, angels or fairies. Turn your fairy dark or create a fallen angel to go along with the rebelliousness of the teen years by adding black wings and a dark dress.

  7. Step 7

Be more daring with outfits like a dead bride or a ghost rider. Go dark with black nails, black hair and lots of blood. Create a creepy clown that makes people laugh and scream at all the same time.
