  1. Step 1

Open the "Color Picker" dialog box by clicking on the foreground color in the Photoshop toolbox. It is the top square of color, near the bottom of the Photoshop toolbox.

Click the "Color Libraries" button on the right side of the "Color Picker" to open the "Color Libraries" dialog box.

  4. Step 4

Choose the type of colors you would like to display from the "Book" drop down menu. When you pick a book, the color selections for that book will be displayed in the "Color Libraries" dialog box.

Select the shade of color you would like to use to create your custom color from the list on the left side of the "Color Libraries" dialog box. A preview of this color will be displayed in the preview to the right of the color slider.

  7. Step 7

Close the "Color Libraries" and "Color Picker" dialog boxes by clicking the "OK" button twice. The foreground color in the Photoshop toolbox will now contain the custom color you have just created.
