Chrysanthemum tea is commonly taken to strengthen lungs and get rid of head congestion. It's common for people in China to drink it--they have been doing so for thousands of years. Chrysanthemums have proven to be effective in treating allergies, congestion and other lung-related ailments.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Drink chrysanthemum tea on a regular basis for the best health benefits. It isn't a Western medicine, so there's no limit on how much you can drink.

  2. Step 2

Get chrysanthemum tea bags at herbal or natural food stores. A box of 20 tea bags will cost about $6.

  3. Step 3

Steep tea bags in hot water for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve hot or cold. Drink several cups a day to strengthen your lungs.

  4. Step 4

Make an herbal infusion by steeping four to five flower buds in hot water for 2 to 4 minutes. Remove them once the water turns yellowish in color.

  5. Step 5

Add sugar or honey to the tea to improve the taste, if needed. Serve tea and herbal infusion hot or refrigerate it until cold.

Tips & Warnings
