How to Record Videos on an iPhone

The iPhone was justifiably criticized when it came out for its lack of ability to record videos as other phones do. The fact that a phone is really for calling and talking with people aside, there are those who get great joy out of recording video clips when inspired. Here's how to do it on the iPhone.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
The iPhone, in its original state, takes pictures but doesn't record video. It only has 8 gigabytes of storage space, so you probably wouldn't be able to record much anyway.
Step2
Find the application put out by Monster and Friends, a company that has developed a beta package that allows the iPhone to record video.
Step3
Load the application onto your phone by downloading the program and putting it into your iPhone's application folder. From there it's an easy matter to press the button and record.
Step4
Forget saving a video. With this beta version, you can record up to five seconds of video, at about 10 frames per second, with a resolution of about 2 megabytes. The video replays once, but it cannot be saved, as the program lacks the necessary interface.
Step5
Write to Apple and request that they develop video capability for the iPhone. The existing beta version by third-party developers shows that the iPhone can handle video, so perhaps a bit of public pressure can bring the corporation around to including what has come to be an essential part of the "phone experience" for many users.
