Perform side moves during the freefall while skydiving. Getting your body to move in the air from side to side without flipping over isn't as effortless as most skydivers make it look. It requires a fundamental knowledge of the basics of skydiving and how your body moves in the stream of 50-mph winds pushing on you.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know where you are in the air. Part of the skill involved with freefalling poses is being able to be artistic while at the same time checking your instruments to be aware of exactly how much time you have to practice or complete your routine before releasing your chute.

  2. Step 2

Turn with different halves of your body. To move while freefalling in skydiving, you turn in different directions by either turning your upper part of your body or your lower part of the body. In order to move sideways, you are going to incorporate both top and bottom halves of your body to do so.

  3. Step 3

Slide to the left in the air by banking your entire slightly down toward the left. That will shoot you off to your left. Basically, you are using both portions of your body and moving them in the same direction to move sideways in the air. Move to the right by banking right.

  4. Step 4

Move in the air while maintaining your side position by using your legs. Make a right turn by dipping your right leg down. Arch your back to keep your body stable. Extend your right arm to turn yourself. Extend your right leg and turn.
