How to Use Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer

Foxmarks is an add-on for the Mozilla Firefox web browser. It lets you view and manage your browser bookmarks through multiple computers and access them online from any remote computer. Foxmarks is recommended by Firefox and is easy to install and configure.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Open the Mozilla Firefox browser. Go to "Tools" and select "Add Ons." Click on "Get Extensions" at the bottom of the page. This will take you to an add-ons webpage. Search for "Foxmarks."

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Add to Firefox" button on the Firefox page. Click the "Install Now" button. Restart Firefox after the installation is complete. The Setup Wizard will launch.

  3. Step 3

    Press "Cancel" if you want to host your bookmarks on your own server. Open Firefox and go to "Tools," "Foxmark," "Settings" and "Advanced Server Settings." Check the box next to "Use My Own Server." Enter your server URL.

  4. Step 4

    Set up a Foxmarks account with your name and password. Enter your email address. Check your email inbox for the Account Activation email. Click the link within the email. Follow the wizards to set up Foxmarks.

  5. Step 5

    Install Foxmarks on each computer you want to synchronize. When you're finished, fill out the installation survey at Foxmark's website.

  6. Step 6

    Log on to My Foxmarks from any computer to use your bookmarks.

  7. Step 7

    Go to "Tools" and click "Foxmarks" and "Settings" to adjust your account settings. Go to the synchronization properties to configure sync or find out when sync occurred. Launch the setup wizard to change configuration properties.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you can't synchronize because of a proxy server, connect to the proxy by requesting a different webpage. After entering your username and password, the update should succeed.
