"Get up, stand up...stand up for your rights." If you know this call to action, you must be a Bob Marley fan. Bob Marley and the Wailers popularized reggae music and turned the world's eye toward the poor in Jamaica and other countries. Although he passed away in 1981, his legacy of inspiring peace and unity lives on. Here's how you can inspire peace with music like Bob Marley.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find your talent and maximize it. Bob Marley had a talent for music and lyrics, and he practiced until his skills were as sharp as a knife. Everyone has some sort of gift that they can use for the benefit of peace. If yours is music, write lyrics that inspire with a positive message that can spread.

  2. Step 2

Decide what you're going to be passionate about. When you hear about injustice somewhere, what is it that makes your heart beat fast? Bob Marley was a Rastafarian and felt persecuted for his beliefs. Perhaps you could fight for women's rights in the Middle East, or help underprivileged children right in your hometown.

  3. Step 3

Empower yourself. Decide what you're passionate about. There is so much strife in the world, and one person can't change everything. But if everyone decided to make one positive contribution to the world, how much better it would be. Bob Marley thought he could make a difference, and he did. So can you.

  4. Step 4

Take action. Bob Marley was not one to sit back and just sing about peace. He lived it, and his fame was a by-product of his action. That's why his legacy of peace continues today in the form of the Bob Marley Foundation and the program Africa-Unite.

  5. Step 5

Learn to be at peace in your own home. Is there any area where you are not at peace? Do you fight with your spouse on occasion in front of the children? Is there an unresolved conflict for which you need to seek forgiveness? When you learn to be at peace, then you can inspire others.
