1
Get a basic fitness platform down by starting on a gym regiment that includes bench press, deadlifts, lots of squats, good mornings and chin ups or pull ups. Once you get comfortable in the gym, where Cena spent most of his spare time as a young man, you can start moving towards a John Cena-type body.
-
2
Begin to pare down your eating until you get to a very strict diet program that pumps up natural protein (preferably from whole food sources or from natural supplements) and cuts out carbohydrates and sugar, almost completely. This kind of diet is the only way to get Cena's ridiculously low body fat while still gaining muscle.

3
Develop a more sophisticated workout program that divides your body into major muscle groups, such as chest, legs, back and arms. Pick a handful of exercises for each muscle group that you'll target on each workout. Then figure out which exercises complement each other and group them together.
-
4
Work out John Cena-style by doing circuits of the grouped exercises you select. Go from exercise to exercise without taking any breaks. Keep the intensity of each workout as high as possible so that your lifting workouts double up as cardio workouts, giving you a chance to get double the benefit for your body in half the time.

5
Play some sort of sport to supplement the workout. John Cena gets and keeps his body where it is by practicing and performing pro wrestling on a daily basis.
