Predict the Winner of American Idol Predict the Winner of American Idol

I love American Idol, especially when I'm able to judge the winner after just a few weeks into the show. You can amaze your friends by picking the 2 or 3 contestants that will win each year. There is a methodical way of doing this.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nothing

Step1
Figure 1 (Daughtry - Married) First, you need to determine who's married and who isn't. Those who are not married have the best chance. It's not impossible for someone married to win, but it tends to be less likely. This is due to the fact that there is a sexual attraction from fans, especially the younger ones and if you're married, that just ruins it. Think of how Chris Daughtry who was in the top 4 in Season 5 got tossed and couldn't make it into the top 3. He was the only one of the 4 that was married. He could have been either the winner or runner up.
Step2
Figure 2 (Malakar - Personality) Second, the person must have a good singing ability. I love Sanjaya Malakar, but there's only so far a personality can take you. It doesn't matter if you're not good looking either since there are other factors that can easily counter-balance that, and a good voice is at the top of the charts (so to speak).
Step3
Figure 3 (The Judges) Third, carefully review what the judges say. They definitely (but not always) can sway the audience in how they vote. Also, they give an indication if a person is for real or just lucky. If they say that "this is the best performance so far" for a singer, and that person hasn't done too well in the past, then it's an indication that person may not last long even though he/she has done well that week. But if the judges say something like, "you've been the most consistent," or "best performance of the evening," then it's usually an indication that person will go far.

on 5/1/2008 Great article, I think your "married" theory is very interesting.

on 4/23/2008 Well, Carly Smithson got ousted tonight (April 23, 2008). Guess what, she's married. Next up or shortly thereafterwards will be blonde girl who likes to fake cry all the times (she's also married).

on 4/11/2008 Michael Johns was recently given the boot? Why? Because he's one of the two remaining contestants who are married. The next one (or soon thereafterwards) will be Carly S. who is also married.
