How to Avoid the Midnight Munchies

Many of us can control our eating during the day, but at night there is no taming the beast. Here are some effective ways to attempt to control that late night hunger.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
EAT BREAKFAST. Skipping breakfast will often leave you feeling like you are starving later in the day.
Step2
EAT ENOUGH DURING THE DAY. If you are restricting your food intake too much during the day, your body will retaliate with intense cravings at night.
Step3
KNOW YOUR BODY. Ask yourself, "Am I really hungry, or just bored?" If you are bored, do something else such as take a walk.
Step4
BRUSH AND FLOSS YOUR TEETH. This will signal to your brain that eating is over for the day. (And food tastes awful after toothpaste!)
Step5
CLOSE THE KITCHEN. At a designated time, turn out all of the lights in the kitchen. This reinforces that you are through eating for the day.
