Things You'll Need:
- Computer
- Game system
-
Step 1
Download three different softwares to get this streaming media to work with your systems: Tversity, ffdshow and Codec Sniper.
-
Step 2
The main software is Tversity, which is a standalone media streaming utility that is designed to stream video to devices. It can be tricky to configure, but it is important. The reason is that it automatically converts your content into the proper format for easing streaming. This is important because the gaming system does not support the formats. PS3 can only play MPEG1 and MPEG2 videos.
-
Step 3
Clean out your old codes. This is all the codec packs that come with the video player. You will need to reboot your computer. If you find messages about your player missing code, you are on the right track.
-
Step 4
Now install a new Codec Pack by installing ffdshow. You will be able to see videos now.
-
Step 5
The next step is to install Tversity and follow the screen instructions until you come to the part where it asks if you want to install the Codec Pack. Make sure that you uncheck the box. Vista users will see errors, so you will need to manually start the Tversity program from the Start menu.
-
Step 6
After you install the Tversity, you need to add media. Open the software and click the green plus sign in the upper-left corner. Now add a folder that will store your media. The software will perform a scan and locate all the proper media.
-
Step 7
Once the PS3 is connected to your PC, test if the PS3 can see the Tversity. Turn on the PS3 and go to the video blade area. You should see an entry at the top of the list with your video name and click on it.
