Step1
Pick one person to be in charge of gathering all the information and pictures.
Step2
At a family gathering, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas, tell all your brothers and sisters about your plans for the family DVD to get them excited about the idea.
Step3
At the next family gathering, supply each sibling with an envelope for him to gather all the pictures of his family that he would like to include on the DVD.
Step4
Pick a date that all the pictures have to be sent or emailed to you (we used a year to get all the information).
Step5
Follow-up every month with an email or letter reminding them to get the pictures to you.
Step6
If you have one sibling who doesn’t want to join in (and you probably will), get all the pictures that you have of her family and include them.
Step7
It’s easier and faster if each family member scans his own pictures before he gives them or email thems to you.
Step8
Collect the print pictures, CDs and emailed pictures and put them on your computer. Remember to name the folder as something you can easily remember and try to keep it as organized and as chronological as possible.
Step9
Decide how you want to display the photos on your DVD. We started with our mother and father and then showed pictures of their parents and on until we had no more pictures of grandparents.
Step10
We then organized all the pictures and showed each child in order of birth.
Step11
Under each child, we showed all of their children and grandchildren.
Step12
At the end of the DVD picture album, we showed a picture of all of us from a family reunion! Once all the pictures are organized and added to the album, burn a DVD for each member of the family and pass them out as gifts for them to keep.
