Begin by taking a broom with soft bristles and very lightly "sweeping" your ceiling. This will remove most of the dust that gathers in the "popcorns" crevices. You must be careful to not sweep too aggresively as you may remove some of the "popcorn".
Step2
Use the feather duster to get into corners for cobweb removal. I wouldn't recommend using the feather duster on the entire ceiling. The position of your body while reaching for the ceiling and watching what you are doing will cause you to become very achy very quickly.
Step3
Use the stiff bristle paint brush to clean around light fixtures, fans and plant hooks. You can also use a vacuum with a brush attatchment to get into crevices and in vents.
Step4
If extensive staining is present on the ceiling, such as food splatter in the kitchen or yellowing from cigarette smoke, you will have to repaint the ceiling to return it to it's former glory. Scrubbing the ceiling clean will cause more damage and a costly repair.
Step5
Kilz is a low odor oil primer that professionals prefer over other primers. Primer and Paint should be sprayed on rather than rolled or brushed on.
