How to Win Online at Madden08

In this article, I will teach you the basic and advanced techniques as well as some key plays you will need to win every time at Madden08. It's simple to follow, you just need to know what to do!

• A Ps3
• Two thumbs

1. If you are new to Madden08 you will first need to familiarize yourself with a specific team. I would choose the San Diego Chargers because they have the best halfback and a relatively solid defence.

2. Before playing any games, make sure you get familiar with the controls by going to Game Modes >> Practice, or Game Modes >> Mini Games.

3. Make sure you use the same play-book. I would stick with San Diego play-book and use NE defence. This is chosen before the start of every game.

4. Once in, always choose 'kick' if you win the coin toss. Why? Because throughout the game you will learn your operants strangely better in the 3rd quarter than you would during the 1st, and you receive the ball at the 3rd quarter if you kick. You also know what you have to score if you receive the ball during the 3rd quarter.

5. Running the ball is the key to success. Run the ball until you are hit for a loss or it is 2 and 8 or 3rd down. The best running plays to call in the San Diego play-book is in the Strong Formation >> HB Blast (to the left) Bounce to the outside with a juke.

6. When the running game slows, attack through the air my friend. I have several plays for this. The first is a trick play found in the Singleback Formation >> Slot Strong. Drop back for about half a second and throw the ball to the WR on the screen. When he gets the ball, run with it. your opponent will think it's a pass and your good for 15yards every time. Another play is in Singleback Formation >> Big. PA Rollout. This play fakes it to the halfback. Look for triangle or "X" to be wide open. "X" will always be open. Don't force it to Triangle.

7. When on defence, I always call one play. That's really all you need. Make sure you have NE defence playbook. Go to the Dollar Formation >> Man Under. In this play, your MLB blitzes (Shawn Merriman.) First, pinch your D-Line by pressing Triangle and then down on the left analog-stick. Then position your self between the two D-Lineman. A hole should open up and you will burst through the middle everytime getting either a sack, or a rushed throw, resulting in an INT, hopefully for a TD.

Tips & Warnings

• Kick field goals when it's 4th down. Points are essential, get them when you can!
• Punt it when it is 4th down and 4 or more. Field position is essential.
• Don't be the Texans or Dolphins or Jets. It's not worth it.
• Set your audibles! (Plays that you can call before the snap and after the play selection menu.)
• Watch for cheaters that kick onside kicks
• Don't be a sore-winner!
• Running the WR Double Pass to many times in a row could result in a fumble. Be smart and mix up your game. (50% run, 50% pass)
