How to Find Your Last Edited Place in a Word Document

Word 2003 has a nifty way to jump to up to three of the last edited locations in a document, even if you’ve closed the document. This feature comes in handy if you are working on a long document, like editing a book, and you need to end your editing session and close Word. When you re-open the Word document, you have a means to quickly jump to the last location where you made an edit.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Microsoft Word 2003

Step1
Open the Word document that you want to resume editing.
Step2
After immediately opening the document, press SHIFT+F5 (that’s the shift key along with the F5 key on the top of the keyboard.).
Step3
The cursor will appear at the exact point where you last made a change.
Step4
To reach the previous two editing locations, press SHIFT+F5 until you reach the location you want.
