Yes it is recommended that you use a special mild baby detergent for your baby until he or she is about 18 months old. I personally found that Dreft works wonderfully and isn't too pricy. Also smells really good!

  2. Step 2

You do not need to use fabric softener liquid or sheets for baby clothes/blankets/sheets because it takes away from the flame resistance and can irritate your baby's sensitive skin.

  3. Step 3

Put the baby clothes/blankets/sheets in your washer and dryer as you would your normal clothes.

  4. Step 4

Now that you have you baby detergent, gather up all those adorable outfits and get them ready for the big day!

Tips & Warnings
  • Wash baby clothes during the last month of your pregnancy
  • If your doing a full load of baby clothes you only need to fill the detergent cup up to the first line.
  • Be sure you wash new clothes before your baby wears them, especially when she or he is a newborn.
