- Phone.
Step1
Use one of the major search engines such as Google on the Internet to look up your prospected company. Look for company reviews and a home page. If you have not tried the company's product this is a great way of learning about the product in particulars and if it is something you want to be part of. If the Company is a public corporation, you can also solicit an annual report as a potential investor to get a sneak peak at their future.
Step2
Read up on trade literature and go to trade shows. Most large companies participate in such events and this will give you an advantage to learn the ins and outs of the company and maybe meet a few people in the field.
Step3
Attend meetings of clubs or organizations in your field. This will help you meet new people and up coming news in your field. This will also help with networking later on.
Step4
Don't forget to use your local Better Business Bureau and Chamber of Commerce to find out how the company is perceived in the community.
