For boys, puberty is the name for the time when your body starts to change and you start to look more like a man. Puberty usually starts between ages 10 and 15 in boys. During this time, your body will grown and change faster than at any other time since you were a baby. Everyone has to go through these changes and it's nothing to feel awkward about.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Acne medication (if necessary)
  • Deodorant
  1. Step 1

Recognize that you're entering puberty. When you enter this stage of your life, your body starts to release certain hormones and they go to work on different parts of your body. You'll start to grow hair under your arms and in pubic areas. Your voice will also start to change and get deeper. When you start noticing these things, you're undergoing puberty.

  2. Step 2

Don't panic. The changes your body is experiencing is normal and everyone goes through them. It's really just a growth spurt. You might quickly outgrow your clothes and this growth might make you feel clumsy or awkward but you'll eventually fill out and shape out and you'll feel less klutzy.

  3. Step 3

Pay attention to the changes in your body. It's your body and your experiences so you should pay attention to what's happening. You might start developing acne on your face and it's good to notice it early on and start treating it. You might also start developing body odor and might have to use deodorant.

  4. Step 4

Accept that you're undergoing puberty. You can't reverse the changes happening to your body and just remember that everyone goes through it. If there are questions you have about the changes you're undergoing, talk to someone about it.

  5. Step 5

Get through it. You will survive puberty and grow into being a man. There will be a lot of changes to your body, but after the awkwardness passes, you'll welcome those changes. A lot of them are important for you to reproduce in the future so it's good to know how this all affects you.

Tips & Warnings
  • To help control pimples, wash your face twice a day and use acne medication if necessary.
  • Antiperspirant deodorant is very useful during this stage as it helps to protect against sweating.
