How to Make a Fun and Healthy Snack for Kids

Your kids are hungry, and they need a quick, nutritious, and delicious snack. Try the following recipe for a snack your kids are sure to ask for again and again. You might even enjoy it, too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Whole wheat, soft tortilla shells (burrito size)
  • low-fat ranch dressing
  • shredded mozzarella cheese
  • chopped vegetables such as carrots or broccoli (any vegetable that your child likes will work)
  1. Step 1

    Place the tortilla shell open on a microwave-safe plate.

  2. Step 2

    Pour Ranch dressing on one side of the tortilla shell. Spread it evenly with a butter knife.

  3. Step 3

    Sprinkle chopped vegetables onto the Ranch dressing. You can use any vegetables you want.

  4. Step 4

    Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the vegetables and Ranch dressing.

  5. Step 5

    Fold the tortilla shell over the ingredients to make a pocket with the vegetables, dressing, and cheese inside.

  6. Step 6

    Put in the microwave for one minute or until cheese is melted.

  7. Step 7

    Cut into wedges and enjoy!

Tips & Warnings
  • Chop the vegetables into tiny pieces. Tiny vegetables are not so hard after cooking in the microwave for a short period of time.
