Instructions

    • 1

You need to be eating plenty of complex carbs. Those are the whole-wheat breads, pastas and oatmeal. Always go for whole-wheat, whole-grain or 'brown' carbs. These are the healthier options as opposed to white rice or white bread.

    • 2

You want to eat a lot of lean meats. Meat contains protein which helps you build muscle. Some fat is ok but try to get the leaner cuts such as chicken breasts, turkey, and low-fat ground beef.

    • 3

Don't be afraid of fat!! You need healthy fats in your diet. These include the nuts and such listed above. Healthy fat is a vital part of any diet. It will not make you fat, it'll actually help you lose fat. Just don't overdo it. As with anything, moderation is key.

Don't forget your veggies!! They're all good for you, just eat whichever ones you like. Vegetables are very good for you. They contain vitamins, fiber, and are a low-calorie option to fill you up.

    • 5

Fruit is good for you. It contains sugar, but it's the good kind (fructose) and isn't processed like the stuff you find in candy. Fruit is low calorie and contains vitamins and such just like the veggies.

    • 6

Eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese. All of these can be good for you in moderation (just like everything else!). Egg whites are a very cheap source of protein. The yolks do contain fat but it's good fat. Still, make sure you limit it to maybe 2 yolks a day. Make sure any yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream or anything like that is low-fat or fat-free and doesn't have added sugar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Just because the foods are healthy doesn't mean that you have to change your diet completely. You can take any food: spaghetti, stir-fry, pizza, and make a healthy version.

  • Try to drink lots of water. It'll help significantly in both weight loss and keeping your body healthy.

  • Don't give up!!
