How to Prevent Teeth Stain
Although some causes of teeth staining are not preventable -- such as certain medications you had to take when your teeth were forming, or just advancing age -- other causes are. Whether you've have your teeth professionally whitened by a dentist, have used whitening products as home, or have done nothing at all to whiten them, you can benefit from simple measures to prevent further staining.

1
Brush, floss and rinse with mouthwash regularly. The less contact that staining foods have with your teeth, the less chance they have to leave stains.
-
2
Avoid very colorful foods, such as beets and blueberries. The rule of thumb is this: If it would stain your clothing, it will also tend to stain your teeth.
-
-
3
Avoid foods with bright artificial colors, such as Popsicles, for the same reason.
-
4
Avoid drinking anything dark, such as red wine, coffee or cola. If you can't live without these beverages, rinse with water after drinking them.
-
5
Quit using tobacco products. Smoking and chewing tobacco are not just unhealthy habits -- they can lead to discoloration of your teeth.
