While the idea of a portable cookie in a crush-resistant container sounds promising, after experiencing the product, you may have second thoughts about sending these in as a lunch item.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • read this first, then you may want to purchase Keebler Take-Alongs Chocolate Chip Cookies
Step1
As someone who is always on the go, I look for products that are individual-sized and portable. A few weeks in the grocery store, I noticed the Keebler elves had produced a new product: Keebler Take-Alongs. These cookies are packaged in individual containers, with each one containing four cookies. The quality of the cookies was excellent and they retained their freshness due to a well-sealed package. In addition to being sealed, the individual packages are joined together in one flat tray and have perforations connecting them. The perforations are the means to separating each individual serving when it is time to consume them.
Step2
Now, this is where the trouble, for me began. While a clever concept, the packing was a big mistake. It takes a tremendous amount of strength to separate each package of cookies, and many times I had to use scissors to cut through the perforations. In addition, both my wife and I experienced sharp edges which led to cut fingers. By sharp, I mean the edges are much sharper than a plastic knife. This happened for all of the six packages of cookies, not just on one side.
Step3
Finally, after experiencing this horrible time with the Keebler Take-Alongs, our family will continue to purchase the regular Keebler Chips Deluxe (which is the same flavor as the Take-Alongs) and will just individually bad them ourselves, as it is much safer to use. Until Keebler improves this product, I will never purchase it again.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider trying any product out before sending it in someone's lunch. Remember to consider their strength levels that they have when trying to open something on their own.
  • Edges were very sharp for me and cut my fingers: be careful
