How to Make Pacific Northwestern Corn Bread

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 4-ounce can Green Chiles, seeded and chopped
  • 1 16-ounce can Cream Style Corn
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded mild Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 Cup sifted Flour
  • 1 Cup sifted Yellow Corn Meal
  • 4 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
  1. Step 1

    Cream butter and sugar together.

  2. Step 2

    Mixing well, add eggs, one at a time.

  3. Step 3

    Add chiles, corn and cheese, and mix well.

  4. Step 4

    Sift flour and corn meal together with baking powder and salt, then add to corn mixture.

  5. Step 5

    Blend all the above ingredients well.

  6. Step 6

    Pour into a (greased with flour) or (non stick) 9x13-inch pan.

  7. Step 7

    Place pan in preheated oven at 350F, and immediately reduce heat to 300F. Bake for an hour. Serve hot!
