You also don’t have to buy a cookie mix or premade cookie dough to get quick and delicious sugar cookies. Instead, try this easy and quick recipe to make made-from-scratch sugar cookies in no time. This recipe makes about 12 cookies, depending on how big you make them. Does this Spark an idea?

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar, and additional sugar set aside for the topping
  • 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 400 F.

      Sift the flour, the baking powder and the salt into a mixing bowl. Mix until well blended.

      Beat the eggs in a large bowl until they are well blended. Add the sugar, oil and vanilla to the eggs. Mix the ingredients well. Slowly stir the flour mixture into the egg mixture. Mix until all ingredients are well blended. Place mixture in the refrigerator for about five minutes to firm it a little.

      Use a cereal spoon or a 1 tablespoon measuring spoon to drop cookie dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Dip the bottom of a cup into water and then into the additional sugar. Use the bottom of the cup to press the cookies flat. Repeat for each cookie.

      Place cookies in oven and bake for eight minutes. Cool the cookies on a cooling rack for a few minutes after baking.
