on 10/26/2008 Your child may also have a hard time connecting what he or she used to do in a diaper with what is now supposed to do in the toilet. Getting steps to assist them to the attached potty trainer on the toilet seat will also help eliminate any discomfort in the legs that hang over with no potty tranier aparatus. Above all, remember to NEVER SPANK your child if he or she has an accident. Their bladders are not as developed as an adult's. Potty training is tramatic enough without adding the trama of spanking a child for an accident. Be loving and patient with your child. It is not necessary to reward your child with a treat which may encourage unhealthy eating. Young children are very eager to please, so a hug or excitement when they do use the potty trainer is sufficient, but you must remember to ween them off the reward system that you choose.

on 10/19/2008 One thing to remember - if a child is resistant, continue to lightly encourage, but back off for a month or two.

on 5/20/2008 Good suggestions. I definitely agree with the showing the child what we are doing...that seemed to work for us.
