Mildew and mold can be a very frustrating problem that can be caused by a water leak or by humid conditions. Depending on the severity, the condition could lead to health problems; rot and structural damage. Fortunately, there are common everyday household products that you can use that may be in your home already.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Put 1/2 Cup of Vinegar in the spray bottle.
Step2
Put 2 Cups of Water into the spray bottle.
Step3
Cover any spots that you do not want to treat.
Step4
Spray the are where you want to remove the mildew of mold.
Step5
Wait 15 minutes to see if mildew/mold has disappeared. If not spray and wait another 15 minutes.
Step6
Repeat if necessary.

Tips & Warnings

  • If a sour odor is left from the mold use an enzyme digester cleaner which can be purchased from any hardware store.
  • If you have a rubber seal use enzyme digester cleaner
  • If mold is stubborn add another 1/2 Cup of vinegar
  • If there is a leak you need to correct the problem
