Many people as well as I want to lessen the impact on the environment. However, many people believe that it’s too expensive or don’t know where to begin. Today I’m going to introduce to you some cost-effective, environmentally- sound products on the market to get you started on living green without spending to much green.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Buy compact fluorescent light bulbs. These bulbs not only use less energy than the incandescents, but have a longer usable life. In fact, the usable life is about 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs which mean it will decrease the greenhouse gas emission and saves you money.
Step2
Install a low flow shower head. The low flow shower head combines air with water running through them to give the feel of high water pressure. Intern, this will decrease your water usage by up to 20%.
Step3
Install a solar electric system. This system can be costly, but it can replace your current energy source altogether. In the end it will pay for itself.
Step4
Purchase a hybrid car. The up front cost can be costly, but you will save around $500 of gas per year. In addition, it will cut carbon emission by about 30%.
Step5
Purchase organic cotton material. Organic cotton is grown without pesticides, herbicides, insecticides or chemical fertilizers.
Step6
Try to use baking soda. Baking soda can be used for many things such as teeth whiteners, laundry additives, and a cleaner.
