Have you ever wondered how some people just manage to look good all the time? They may just have rich a$$ parents who buy them everything... OR.. they may have really good thrifting skills. (thrifting is hunting around in thrift stores for hours and coming up with really unique pieces for dirt cheap!) They may be bargain hunters who have the ability to find really good, name brand clothing and shoes for cheap. So here is how YOU can stay fresh and look like you broke the bank, but didn't!!!

Things You’ll Need:

a little bit of cash for the thrifting. ($20 to $30)
patience... you may have to look in several stores, or ride the el train to the end of the line, or be on a crowded hot bus in the middle of the summer.
an imagination!!
an idea of what look you are trying to pull off

Step1

OK!!! Now you will know (my secret) of how to look fabulously fresh without spending your whole check!! First, have an idea of what you want your look to be. IE. prep,gothic, flyy, skimpy, boho, silly, formal, or just a mixture of more than one.

Next.. find a really cool little thrift store. (some of mine are: something old something new, land of the lost, unique thrift, Hollywood mirror, and ragstock. (all of these are in Chicago by the way. Be prepared for stores without dressing rooms. you may have to eye the garment and just go for it. (WARNING) A lot of these stores do NOT have return policies either.

PLEASE PLEASE be prepared to spend hours in one store! (looking for pretty little cinch belts, clutches and little jackets.) and you may be able to haggle the clerk at the store for a cheaper price! i have found some really stunning little coin bags and clutches as well as some really beautiful scarves for about as little as $2 each.

last. Really enjoy your finds! pair them with some of your more expensive clothes and shoes for a really unique look. I get compliments all the time on my "eccentric" looks. and my style.
