This is actually easy to do, I marked it as moderate because actually getting the materials is the hard part. It is an old guitar playing myth that I heard but I tried it and it seems that it really does work. Dont blame me for unwanted results though lol.

Things You'll Need:

  • Ok, theres many ways to get these but i got mine off of gas tank. You need a extremely high powered magnet, but it needs to be kinda small. You will need to be able to grip it with Pliers however. May
  1. Step 1

Take your strings off of your guitar. Im assuming that your pickups are very quiet and you have no good sustain. This will be a very nice experience for you if that is the case.

  2. Step 2

This is going to be a long process. It basically depends on how many pickups you have. My guitar had 3 pickups, so it took 3 nights. Take the magnet, and put let it attract itself to the middle of the pickup. Leave it on there all night.

  3. Step 3

When you wake up or get time the next day, go ahead and use the pliers to move the magnet to the next magnet, and leave it on there that next night. And continue doing the same until you get all of your pickups.

Tips & Warnings
  • I will tell you my outcome. I have an old very heavily modified FirstAct guitar. The pickups in it were finally dying out, so I tried this on them. The sensitivity now is incredible. Sometimes however, it does give me a slight ringing sound but it goes away. I also noticed that it has some new noise in it, that goes away when your hand touches the strings. Better than the sound it use to have though thats all i know.
  • I wouldnt leave the pickups on for longer than a good nights sleep. They may become too sensitive. I have a guitar like that and all it does is squeal. You dont want that to happen, Lol.
