Things You'll Need:
- Non-comedogenic moisturizers
- Alcohol-free toner or skin conditioner
- Cotton balls
- Other safe ingredients
-
Step 1
Avoid facial lotions, facial wash and cosmetics that are oil-based. Instead, you should look for products that are "non-comedogenic". These products won't clog your skin pores.
-
Step 2
Don't wear tight clothes, headbands, hats, or helmets every time you exercise or play sports. Try to wash these sweat-soaked apparels each time you wear them.
-
Step 3
Always keep the skin hydrated and moist so your skin cells can work properly. For this purpose, you can moisturize your face with mild, non-comedogenic moisturizers. Moisturizing is a necessity. Again, the product with the least amount of chemical additives is your best option. Remember to always use a light moisturizer on your face after cleansing.
-
Step 4
Cleanse your skin pores with an alcohol-free toner or skin conditioner applied on cotton balls. Do not try to scrub harshly or you will damage your skin.
Even after rinsing your face, if you do not remove the remainder of cleanser and loosened debris residues, you are only going to push that debris deeper into the pores as you layer serums and moisturizers on top. The absolute best way to perform this deep pore cleansing is with an alcohol-free toner or skin conditioner applied on cotton balls.
There's no need to harm your skin by vigorous scrubbing or harsh acids, simply wipe with toner damp cotton balls until the last cotton comes away perfectly white. -
Step 5
To prevent your skin pores from clogging, you can use Astringents, Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acids and Retinoic Acids.

on 7/20/2009 Great post! You covered all boundaries and provided awesome description.
I also suggest to not touch your face, for oil on your hands can clog your pores. It's a good idea to wash bed sheets, especially pillow cases, as well so that those nasty bacteria and germs won't attack your face while you're sleeping and cause breakouts.
