Do you want to save money but cannot live without being fashionable? Or are you just looking for ways to have fun but save money? Here are a couple ideas I have come across that work!

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • a computer
  • time

Step1
I want a killer dress but don't want to pay a killer price! - If you are like me you have a handful of times a year you need a killer designer dress and each time it can't be the same dress you wear but you don't want to pay the killer price. That is easy - go to onenightaffair.com for dresses from Versace you give them your measurements and you will pay $50-$200 for roughly a week of rental! To be the princess at the ball!
Step2
I love purses- but I can't afford to buy them all the time! bagborroworsteal.com is a rental service- you rent purses based on levels from $5-10 per month membership then the cost for the bag.. instead of spending $300-$600 for each purse you can alternate your bag each month without breaking your wallet and what's better than getting the purse you always wanted- they offer jewelry too!
Step3
Gas Prices have you screaming? Gasbuddy.com collects prices around the US or gaspricewatch.com. Avoid using your debit card at the pump as well, most retailers hold as much as $100 until the merchant submits the sale, in the meanwhile you could bounce a check or have your card declined when you actually have the money!
Step4
Groceries- do you always seem to buy items you don't need or spend more than you planned at the grocery store? Shop online and have your groceries delivered- amazon.com, safeway.com most offer free shipping on items over $25.00!
Step5
You have items you need buy cannot buy and items you have you need to get rid of? Try freecycle.org- this is a website that lets you get rid of items you don't need and get items you can use for free!
Step6
My phone bill! - Need I say more! Talk for free on the internet with sites like skype.com allow you to make free domestic calls. Shop around and find the site that best suites your needs!
Step7
anytime you shop- compare online first. Saving money on every item will save you money in the long run! When you find the best deal call that store and ask them for additional discounts!
Step8
I hate my cell phone company- but still in a contract. Don't pay a cancellation - celltradeusa.com can help you find someone who may be able to take over your contract!
Step9
Coupons- there are now websites that offer coupon codes for local and national stores. Saving a few cents here and there can definately add up!

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you shop around and talk to people you know before buying an item
  • Before renting make sure you are covered for the worst- loss or damage. Adding the extra insurance may be a good idea in the long run!
  • Check out your stores before buying online and ensure they are good companies!
