Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- 1 1b ground beef
- 1 chopped yellow onion
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- dash crushed red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1 large can (28 oz) of diced tomatoes or fresh
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
Step1
Get a large pot of hot water heating and begin cooking the macaroni as per the directions on the macaroni package. You can use a low carb macaroni or low fat macaroni if you like.
Step2
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef in olive oil on high heat. Add chopped onion, sauté with the ground beef.
Once the beef and onions are browned, lower the heat to medium. Add a dash of crushed red pepper.
Step3
Add seasoning salt. Add celery seed. Add canned tomatoes. Add Worcestershire sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Add the drained and cooked macaroni and parsley. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step4
You can also turn this into a macaroni bake. Throw all the ingredients and the browned ground beef and onions into a casserole dish and cook at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Top with shredded cheese.
