Becoming a working model can take lots of work and patience. Many people are never able to successfully work full time as a model, however it isn't an impossible situation. Going from an auditioning model to a working model is as simple as booking a gig and then booking more gigs going forward.

1
Do some research for modeling gigs in your area or an area that you can easily travel to. Make a list of the different gigs that you'd like to audition for.
-
2
Set up a reasonable schedule so that you can attend the auditions and be timely and effective when you do. Creating an impossible to follow schedule will only cause you to be stressed and perform poorly at the different auditions.

Before the auditions, make sure you look your best. Women should get a manicure, pedicure and facial. Get your hair done in a natural and flattering style. Men should get a hair cut to something flattering and complimentary. Both men and women should wear a flattering outfit. If you are in doubt, find an honest friend to help you choose an appropriate outfit.

On the day of the audition, get there about 10 minutes early. It's ok to wait in your car for a few minutes or sit in the waiting room/lobby area. This will give you a few minutes to gather yourself and mentally prepare for the audition.

Be confident and enjoy the audition. Don't stress about it. Trust your instincts and don't allow yourself to end up in any uncomfortable situations.
